Superwall MRR, churn & LTV analytics
Connect Superwall and Honest MRR builds monthly recurring revenue (MRR), movements, churn, lifetime value (LTV) and cohort reports from the records Superwall sends, with every MRR movement open to inspection — so you can show an investor where a number came from.
You connect with a Superwall API key with the data:read scope. Honest MRR uses it only to read — it never moves money or changes your customers or subscriptions.
Before you connect: RevenueCat, Superwall and Qonversion all report the same App Store and Google Play money. If one app runs through more than one of them, connect only one — otherwise its MRR is counted twice. Superwall can also track web subscriptions billed through Stripe. If that Stripe account is connected here directly too, those subscriptions count twice — connect them in one place only.
How MRR is computed from Superwall
- Store revenue counts proceeds — net of Apple's or Google's cut — the same way RevenueCat's does.
- Superwall's data doesn't state a billing period, so each subscription's cadence is inferred from the length of its paid period — annual plans still divide by 12.
- Purchases made on the web count in full; only App Store and Google Play purchases have a store cut deducted, estimated at 15% when Superwall doesn't report the proceeds.
- Sandbox purchases are ignored.
- Every price is amortized to a monthly amount — annual plans divided by 12, weekly and daily plans scaled up — and past-due subscriptions still count but are flagged at-risk.
- Trials count as zero until they convert.
The full rule set is on how we calculate MRR.
How this differs from Superwall's charts
Superwall's dashboard charts MRR and proceeds, which Superwall defines as revenue after refunds, store fees and taxes. (Superwall's docs, checked October 4, 2026)
Honest MRR reads the same Superwall records and adds:
- One ledger across billing providers — Superwall next to any of the nine we support.
- An audit trail an investor can follow: every MRR movement opens to its ledger entry, the webhook event when one recorded it, and the current Superwall record, and every version we receive is fingerprinted in a tamper-evident hash chain.
- Share links and monthly statements you can save as PDF, plus ad spend for CAC and payback, and costs for burn and runway.
If Superwall is your only billing source and you don't need an audit trail or investor statements, Superwall's charts may be all you need.
How realized revenue is counted from Superwall
Realized revenue — the cash collected — comes from the payment events Superwall's webhook sends. The history a backfill reads carries subscription status, not payments, so payments from before your webhook was set up aren't counted; MRR is unaffected.
Staying current
Every subscription imports when you connect, dated from when it started — months before you connected show each one at its current price. A webhook keeps MRR current as events arrive; without one, Honest MRR resyncs daily.
Connect Superwall — step by step
These are the same steps the in-app guide shows on Settings → Connect after you sign in, where “the field below” and “your connection card above” refer to that page.
How to connect Superwall — step by step
- Go to Settings → API Keys and create a key
It needs the data:read scope. Name it "Honest MRR".
- Paste it below as organizationId:apiKey and connect
Superwall's API can't look up your organization from a key alone, so paste both: the organization id is the first path segment of your dashboard URL (app.superwall.com/{orgId}/{appId}), then a colon, then the key. A brand-new organization can fail for about a minute with a provisioning error while Superwall creates its data-warehouse user — just try again.
- Wait for the backfill
History imports from Superwall's data warehouse; sandbox purchases are ignored. The very first sync doubles as a schema check — if it reports a column mismatch, that message tells us exactly what to fix.
- Live sync: add a webhook
In Superwall → Integrations → Webhooks, add your connection card's URL and copy the signing secret (whsec_…) into the card. Events for purchases, renewals, cancellations and billing issues keep MRR current.
⚠️ If this app's revenue is ALSO connected via RevenueCat or Qonversion, connect only one of them — they report the same store money and MRR would be double-counted. The same goes for web purchases: if Superwall also records your Stripe checkouts, don't connect that Stripe account here as well.
What happens to the data
Honest MRR keeps the latest verbatim copy of every object Superwall sends and fingerprints every version in your organization's append-only hash chain, so the MRR you show investors traces back to the records it came from — and a later edit to any of them is detectable. Credentials are encrypted at rest with AES-256-GCM. Details are on the Security and Privacy pages.
